Unable to covert to .ICNS in Preview

Hi all!

I have recently upgraded to 10.12.6. Now, for some strange reason, I'm unable to convert any image to ICNS format with Preview app. Previously on OS 10.11.1- 6 it worked fine now all I get is an error: The document “xxxxx” could not be exported as “xxxxx”

Here is a pictorial description:

Reread my post. When you open an image (preferably png) with the exact specifications that I provided, then, and only then, will you be able to export to an .icns format. This recommendation is based on practical experience, not speculation.

Right-click on this 300 dpi 512x512 .png image, and save it to your Desktop. Open it in Preview, and then export to .icns.
