Just saw the announcement of the new Apple TV, read through the specs, and was somewhat disappointed re the lack of audio support (DTSx?). What about audio passthrough? Does the new Apple TV support that?

That's bad news, if true. After all the negative feedback from ATV 4 users for not having audio pass through, this is why people will continue to go to their smart TV to stream video from providers instead of Apple TV. Wake up Apple... audio is just as important as video, and we have hi quality AV receivers to process audio and don't want to be stuck with your weak decoding that's built into the Apple TV.

Providers do tend to provide Dolby Atmos or have plans doing so.
Really, can you name (say) 5 or what about 2 that have at least 5% of their stock with it.

At the risk of repeating myself, I have doubts that Apple is going to eagerly facilitate such activities.
So apart from Atmos, if I understand correctly infuse will transcode HD tracks to LPCM and I get the same audio experience compared to getting a DTS HD track straight to my avr?

Yes please can you release an update to support bitstream output. Currently using infuse but it is limited to 24/48khz rather than the full 24/192! :(
Just got a 4K Apple TV and returning it. Didn’t realize it didn’t have optical out and my receiver doesn’t support 4K pass through. *****
