I just got mine in gold. But it turns out, the gold is actually rose gold (pink color), not a regular gold. I did a side by side comparison of my Watch 2 in gold and Watch 3 in gold, and they are distinctively different gold. I wanted a regular gold NOT rose gold, so I am returning mine for a black one.

Describing colours is a very subjective matter.

The current gold-coloured Apple Watch Series 3 is not the same colour as previous Rose Gold or Gold aluminium cases.

Viewing colours on the screens of devices can result in them looking different than they do when viewed in person.

With that in mind, here is a direct, screen-based comparison of the previous Rose Gold and Gold colours with the current Gold colour:

Anyone who is concerned about the colour may, before buying, find it most helpful to view the Apple Watch at an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorised Reseller. In the US, for example:

Actually, there is a rose gold and I feel very much cheated that apple did this. It's a little hard to tell from the pictures but I bought the Gold Aluminum apple watch series 3. It came in the mail today and I can confirm it is the typical apple rose gold color. It matches the color of my rose gold 6s perfectly. I'm not sure why they advertise it as gold but it is what it is.

This watch is NOT gold!! I thought it was a mistake but after waiting on hold for 20 minutes I found out that this is the new gold color. This was the first time in my life I wanted something so bad that I was willing to get up at 3 am to order it! I'm so disappointed!! I've already received my return labels to send the 2 I ordered for my daughter and I back! This is so not cool!!!

Hi. I have to say that I watched the Watch announcement keynote video and noticed for a nano-second that he said "new" gold when introducing colors, but then never thought of it again. I was surprised also when I received my 3 yesterday that it was definitely a different/darker shade than my original gold sport was. But it's definitely not as "Rose" gold as the original aluminum which was more bubble gum-ish.

I have several different bands, in color and material, and each one brings out a different "tone" in this new gold case. The pink bands it comes with definitely bring a pink tint but my original antique white band that came with my original watch brings out an almost copper tint (I think it's very unique). Then I have a new rose red sport and the saddle brown leather and they brink out more gold and the milanese loop makes a definite 2 tone metal look.

Color is definitely a matter of personal choice and opinion, I was surprised and unsure at first but the more I wear it and see the difference the bands make the more unique it seems to me.

I looked at the site. It said gold, not rose gold. I was a bit suspicious since rose gold was no longer an option and it looked kind of pink. I went to a chat session with Apple and asked if it was gold, not rose gold because I hate pink and they assured me it was not rose gold. I got the watch and it was that wretched pink. I returned it and went back to the watch 2.

There is definitely a difference in the color from the previous "Gold" models if you compare them closely. As I had mentioned in a previous reply, it's actually more of a copper. The band color also changes the look quite a bit. But if you compare it to the "Rose Gold" of the previous models, it is most definitely (and thankfully) not as pink. The "rose gold" of previous models wasn't even "rose gold" it was just plain pink. Again, it seems more like a copper color, it is unique for sure and after my initial surprise I am liking it more and more.

I agree . THIS IS NOT GOLD. This is horrible shade of pinkish goldish color

Absolutely awful

The worst when I called Apple customer service the fellow was so rude and implied that I was either liying or blind. He was rude on top of everything. And either he lacks of the knowledge that their version of Gold is from another planet 's shade of gold or in denial that APPLE GOOFED with their choice of color and descr
