Missing Apps page in iTunes 12.7

Hi, Think it is a big mistake to remove the App page from iTunes especially without creating a separate program for syncing managing your Apps.

The Apps page was great for seeing at a glance the status and layout of all your apps on your currently connected device. You could install, remove and update from here. It was also handy for re-arranging Apps onto the various home screens and folders.

I have several portable devices that my family use, 2 iPad minis 4 phones and 2 iPod touches. It was always handy to just plug in to iMac and update and manage from there, but alas no more.

Probably lucky I can still sync my Contact and Calendars!

Seems a backward move for the Mac users

I don't use iCloud, never liked the concept.

Uninstall 12.7 and then download and Install v12.6.2.

After re-installing v12.6.2 a message is shown - "library file was created a new version of itunes" & then iTunes will close immediately.

To Fix this issues to go Music\iTunes which is under C:\Users\YourUsername\Music\iTunes in this folder go to - Previous iTunes Libraries and rename the file "iTunes Library 2017-09-xx" to just "iTunes Library" and copy/replace this renamed file to C:\Users\YourUsername\Music\iTunes

And then iTunes will work with App Sync, Backup options as it was before.

You will need to get used to it (give in), find alternatives, or

simply give up the use of "smart devices".

Uh, no. I don't have to be a slave and give in. They're destroying the ecosystem Steve created. With 12.7, it will take 20-30 hours to restore my device instead of the 2-3 hours it takes under 12.6. Explain to me how that is an improvement.

I suggest everyone send Apple feedback on this every day. Apple did release 12.6.3, so they are getting heat for this and they are responding to it.

My device backups will NEVER reside in iCloud.

"Give up the use of smart devices"? You do realize that there are other companies that make 'smart devices', right? Sounds like you think Apple is the only source for these.

Apple is going full bore on the dependence of iDevices on having Apple servers

as their only source all materials and backups.

And it will be their undoing.

..

I am by no means suggesting Apple is the only source, just saying it is an alternative.

FWIW, Android is far worse in terms of management than iOS and they have

always required downloading apps on restore.

In addition, unlike Apple, Every device manufacturer puts their own "twist"

on Android and the OS is not the same on every device. You are also

dependent on the due diligence of each manufacturer as to when critical updates

to Android are rolled out.

So, the grass isn't all that greener on the other side of the fence.

However, Apple is slowly becoming their equal.

The unfortunate thing is that there are only two choices:

iOS or Android.
