does a message still send if it had been deleted while in the middle of sending? SMS

I had sent a message to a friend and quickly deleted the conversation to which I cannot remember if the sending bar had been completed or not when I swiped delete on the conversation almost immediately after, does the message still send despite deleting the conversation in the middle of it sending or does it delete the message entirely from even being sent? This was not an iMessage but an SMS text to which my friend has an android. I went to see if it had loaded on the messages app on my Mac air/Macbook pro which are synced up for also my sms messages but it hadn't come up some I'm slightly confused however this has happened before where it did not appear on my laptop but still sent?
