will i be notified about my stolen iphone even though i am not tracking it ?

My iphone got stolen 2 days ago, i've been trying to track it through find my iphone but it says that it is offline. Although i'm tracking it as much as i can, there are times that i don't have internet connectivity and i can't always keep the tab open to track it, as it logs you out after a while too. So will i be notified when the iphone is online even though i am not tracking it? Or do i need to keep tracking through icloud to get updates ?

Apple does nothing in terms of monitoring or searching for your device. They will never contact you about it since they have no knowledge it is missing and are not tracking it or trying to. Apple does not get involved with lost or stolen personal property at all.

The only way to track it is for you to regularly check find my iphone yourself.

If you receive any unsolicted message saying it is found - text, email, call, etc - it is nothing more than a phishing scam trying to get you to compromise your information such as AppleID password.

If you do use lost mode to put a message with contact information on the lock screen, be very careful of what you put there, and what you respond to if someone uses that information to contact you. In particular, never give out your AppleID password to anyone. Apple, by strict privacy policy, will never ask you for it, ever.

"Find My iPhone is the only way that you can track or locate a lost or missing device. If Find My iPhone isn't enabled on your device before it goes missing, there is no other Apple service that can find, track, or otherwise flag your device for you."

Thank you so much for the information. I've been tracking it and it says that my phone is online but can't be located. So in that case, what should i do? I tried iMessage and Facetime voice call to contact and in the Facetime voice call, i can hear the ring while there is no receipt on imessage.

Another thing, when i'm tracking it through my laptop, all it says is that all the devices are offline while its only when i'm using the ipad or another iphone that i see that device is online but can't be located. It is showing this especially when i open the app
