Actually, the iPhone X is slightly smaller than the 7 Plus. If you go to http://www.apple.com/iphone you can see the technical specifications for the two devices and compare.

Width 3.07 inches versus 2.79 inches
Depth 0.29 inches versus 0.30 inches (the only larger size)

The exception then is the screen size, measured diagonally. The iPhone 7 Plus is 5.5 inches, and the iPhone X is 5.8 inches.
