Is there any way to get Google Maps to be my default maps application integrated with Calendar, Contacts, etc? I bet not. Apparently there used to be a share button in Apple Maps that could take you to Google Maps but that doesn't seem to be present in IOS 10. Am I right?

You can’t change them. Some apple apps are deeply integrated into the operating system and can’t be changed at the iOS level.
You can request features, point out bugs, etc, at Apple Feedback pages.
If you use Gmail and one of the Google apps for reading your mail (Gmail, Inbox) you can set that to open links in Google Map. The same thing is true, I believe for the Google Calendar app.
There is nothing you can do. Apple is shady this way. Default apps are a must, and the lack of creates a bad user experience. And its because of crap like this i dumped apple and have been much happier.

Then why are you still hanging out on these forums?
I never even had Apple Maps on my phone when I switched to the new OS, and when I click an address in a message it says that Apple maps has been uninstalled and asks me to reinstall. I have Google Maps on my phone, but my phone doesn’t even recognize it! Anyone have any ideas for this dilemma?

It looks like Apple has flexed it's giant muscle and deleted my Google Maps ap on my mac. This stinks. Maps is just not working for me. I suppose it could but I have grown accustomed to Google Maps over the years and don't want to give it up to placate Apples humongous ego. Sorry.
I have no trouble accessing Google Maps on my Mac. You access it through a browser. Safari works just fine. I don't believe there has ever been a Google Maps application for Macs. There is Google Earth.
He could be trying to share the happiness he's experiencing? Folks are on the forums to get answers... maybe no Apple products is a good answer for some.

Right, there is no Mac app for Google Maps. Removing is not possible, even for Apple.
If you don’t use apple maps then uninstall it this is the best way
