I was planning on going to my local Apple store after school (4ish) to get the iPhone 8 Plus. How fast do the iPhones sell on launch day? Will they all be gone by then?
If you want a phone on launch day, you need to set your alarm to 12:01 AM PST tomorrow morning and get your order in, or your chances of picking one up on launch day are virtually zero.
Once it gets close to the release date you go to iPhone - Apple and click on the Pre-order button. You can choose a store to pick it up from.
Beware that to actually get into the store on launch day, you’re likely going to have to camp out in line overnight or even several days in advance. When the iPhone 7 first made it to the stores last year, the Apple store in Raleigh NC had people campled out in the parking lot as much as 3 or 4 days in advance. Stock sold out in literally the first few minutes of the doors opening.
It was like that every morning for quite awhile until the hype from the die-hard “must have immediately” crowds got theirs and moved on to something else 😁
I can be almost certain that they'll be sold out by then. At many stores, if you're not camped out at the store the night before, you're unlikely able to get one.
They will all be sold before you get there. You can reserve a phone usually, but even then you will probably wait weeks.
I see. You can certainly go to an Apple Store that day, but like I said, your chances of getting a phone then is pretty much zilch.
It's been a while since I ordered from Apple directly for store pickup. Here's a link to an article which offers some help. Maybe go online to the Apple website at midnight PST and see what you may be able to do. I'm pretty sure any order requires a financial arrangement, either via a credit card or via financing for the Apple monthly plan or through a carrier plan.
