Is iPhone 5 is eligible to iOS 11 ?

I am using iPhone 5, I wanT To update it to iOS 11

See the chart below to determine whether you can upgrade your device and to what you can upgrade. If you do not have a Software Update option present on your iDevice, then you are trying to upgrade to iOS 5 or higher. You will have to connect your device to your computer and open iTunes to update.

Tap Settings > General > Software Update


If an update is available there will be an active Update button. If you are current,

then you will see a gray screen with a message saying your are up to date.


b. If you are still using iOS 4 Updating your device to iOS 5 or later.

Sadly the iPhone 5 or 5C isn't eligible for the iOS 11 update, or any future updates. The iPhone 5S is the oldest phone that will receive the update without major issues.


This is because the iPhone 5C, 5 and below are 32-bit devices, and iOS 11 now only supports 64-bit ones. This means any old 32-bit apps on your phone will not open and must be updated by the developer.


I recommend you stick with your iPhone 5 for now however, and the prices of the 5S and 6 will go down by the end of this year.
