How to get the three dots on Apple CarPlay Music to show up?

In iOS 10, I noticed that every song that played on my cars headunit, via CarPlay had the three dots front and center at the bottom, that allowed me to “love” or “not love” a song. It was great for marking songs I’m not fond of to then go and delete later from my library.

In IOS 11, the three dots are gone most of the time except sporadically for some music. I haven’t figured out why some songs have it yet, and others not.

Help! How do I get the three dots to show every time?

I've got the same issue after upgrading to iOS 11. I thought it had something to do with the music controls automatically showing up on the Apple Watch but turning that off didn't solve the issue.

I notice the three dots don't show up on Carplay but they show up on my watch and through the music app on the phone.

I really hope they fix this soon.

I noticed the same problem. Do you have an Apple Music subscription? The three dots still appear for Apple Music songs, but not if you've just synced music locally from iTunes to your iPhone. This has changed, because you used to be able to rate all songs.
