I purchased AppleCare+ in October of 16, yet I never received a receipt. Just a proof of coverage. I did this over the phone if that helps. How do I get a prof of purchase ?

I can do no more. If you go to the link in my post timed at 5:19pm I'm sure they will arrange some form of receipt or acknowledgement of your payment.
As things are, if the coverage is confirmed by the second link timed 5.23pm, that is really all you need.

The proof of coverage is sufficient. But where did you order it from; Apple usually send an electronic receipt for payments made. What form does the proof of coverage take.

It was made over the phone. Not in the store.
But to where? Apple on line?
I started my order online, then had to call and it was finished over the phone. I was told I’d be emailed a receipt, but never got one.
I was emailed a link to pay securely online, then another stating my device is covered. All with an agreement ID. But no receipt.
I have coverage. I checked. And there’s nothing from that site that helps me.
I just need to cancel because I’m getting the 8+ and I can’t transfer service since I’m outside of the 30 day window. And it says I need a sales receipt to do that.
You didn't say anything about a cancellation. All the same, "Get help" will put you right.
