Im trying to log into FaceTime on my laptop, but I'm in a strange location. It sent my phone a verification code but I'm not sure where to put it in. Please give me a list of step by step instructions on how to solve this. Thank you very much.

Not the exact context of the OP's issue, but the resolution often works. This was also a way of using 2SV on an Apple TV 3rd generation.
App specific passwords are effectively the same thing. Your current password + an Apple generated verification code entered in to a password box at the same time.

I have searched [ ABC123 site:support.apple.com ] <(should find the Apple Article) and get zero results

If you see a password box, enter the password (ABC) followed by the code (123) or ABC123.
From reading posts in the ASC. I've not seen it in a support article. It can/does work in some circumstances.
Then, it hall remain one of life's great mysteries
Maybe something like " admin/admin " default - but Apple-ized with a Jackson Five twist?
