How can I stop my text messages from showing up on my sons ipad?

Set up a different Apple ID for him, then set up Family Sharing to give him access to your purchases.

As a stop-gap measure, you can turn Text Message Forwarding OFF on your iPhone in Settings > Messages.

Go into Settings > Messages and check the tab makred Text Message Forwarding. Chances are his iPad is checked. Turn that off and your text messages will no longer show up on his iPad.

You can also set his iPad up under his own ID, but the above method is certainly a simple solution that should worki f you don't want to set him up under a different ID.

Try going to Settings/Messages/Send and Receive and turn off your cell phone number and email addresses On his iPad. That is what I have to do with my iOS devices and my wife’s.

As long as you both use the same AppleID for FaceTime, iMessage and iCloud than you both are using the exact same, single accounts for each of those services. So you both see everything in those accounts. The only way to stop that is to use separate AppleIDs for your Apple service accounts so you each have a distinct account for each service.

please turn off the I message from Ipad. even you can create a another profile for you kids.

While that will stop SMS/MMS texts from being shared, it won’t stop iMessages from appearing on both devices as long as both are signed in with the same AppleID.

Is a sep apple account the only way to do this or is there a setting to disable this somewhere?
