itunes payment verification

I was trying to purchase a song from the itunes store, and when I did, a box came up saying "Verification is required", and that it must send a code to my SMS to verify my purchase. The problem is, this is a phone number that I no longer have access to, and as far as I can tell, it's not even linked to my account anymore, as I replaced it with my new phone number quite some time ago.
