1GB is cutting it close. Try deleting some stuff, temporarily at least, and then see if it will download. I've seen the exact same symptoms as you when updating before (I was low on space as well), and that solved it.
My iphone 5S will download but not install 10.3.3. I have over 1 GB of memory. How can I get it installed?
