Phishy Looking Pop Up
Wife has 3 year old iPad Air. This morning she got a pop up saying she needed to enter her Apple ID to 'Activate' the iMessages. Obviously it was activated years ago. Scam?

It's not necessarily a scam. Take a screenshot of the pop-up if possible: How to take a screenshot on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support. Where did this pop-up appear? On a webpage in Safari? On the home screen?
Try simply signing out of iMessage on her device. Then reset it (hold power and home button until you get the Apple boot logo). Once it restarts, try signing back in and see if it connects or throws an error or prompt.
Is her iMessaging working? If so, ignore the pop up and go on with your day.
Will take screen shot when I get home. Very official looking. It appears when she hits iMessages. Front and center over the top of gray scale messages in background.
Can't access iMessages. This is official looking Apple ID sign in. Front and center on top of gray scale messages.
Did you change carriers recently by chance? Or just phone number?
Neither. Been with Verizon forever. Biggest concern is she spends a lot of time on Facebook and clicks on even more videos. Afraid she went somewhere she shouldn't have. Not very tech savvy.
Will give that a shot when I get home. Doubt if she knows how to do either. Still has her iPhone for messages if she really needs it. Thanks.
