There isn't an "edit playlist" button

On my mac I created a new iTunes playlist but the playlist doesn't have an edit playlist button so I can't organise or mass add music in it

Put your playlist in the Songs view. Select the heading of left-most column of numbers to sort on it. This is the Play Order. Drag new content from other areas of the library and drop them onto the playlist in the sidebar. Select the playlist and drag songs up or down the list, or remove, as required. In short you can still edit playlists as before, even if the tools are slightly different. You can also open a playlist in a separate window if that helps.

Editing playlist is as easy as it has always been. Nothing has changed. To edit a smart playlist, you click 'Edit Rules' in the context menu. To edit a normal playlist, you drag & drop tracks from/to it from other playlists. To sort a playlist you go to the 'View' menu. To change the view options, you go to the 'View' menu or press the 'Command' + 'J' keys on the keyboard.

I found an alternative. Have the desired playlist open, and then go to View, and then View As. Make sure Playlist is selected. After that, click Show View Options. Two drop bars will pop up: View As, and Sort As. View As should be set to playlist and Sort As is whatever you want (name, artist, genre, whatever). In Sort As, pick whether you want it in ascending or descending order.

May I ask who had the dozy idea of removing the edit playlist function? and have they been appropriately punished? itunes was always a bit awkward and I don’t really listen to music I use it for my audiobooks. As do my parents (in their late 60s) and removing that function has confused them to no end. Please may we have that “edit play list” back within the playlist being used? Also why can we no longer drag and drop order within the play list??

We also used to be able to sort the songs in a playlist and then delete any duplicates! I am not going to go an entire 450 song playlist to look for duplicate songs. Is this going to be addressed/fixed? When I left Spotify to come back to Apple Music I had to add songs back into my playlist randomly, and sometimes I would add dups. So being able to sort the songs by artist or title was KEY!

Not good.

It's not delete that we are having issues with. Or sort or anything other than the edit playlist function. Previously when you went to add additional music the playlist was on the right of the window and my songs were on the left and I could scroll through my songs and add to playlist and sort through playlist, all the functions I wanted. Now, the best I can do is view my songs and scroll through, hold mouse move a song, and single click on the "..." and single click "Add to Playlist" or "Add to Previous Playlist". Then I have to go to the playlist and sort, or just play randomly. This is so cumbersome. As well as the duplicative playlists that show up and disappearing songs, etc., What's the deal there?
