What about the apps which use TouchID?

The iPhone X has done away with TouchID in favor of FaceID. What does this mean for apps that allowed access via fingerprint? Such as banking apps, CreditKarma, the T-Mobile app, etc. Do we just go back to using passwords like savages? Honestly, I'm okay with losing the fingerprint sensor as long as apps should be supporting the FaceID method.
