Why 3D touch in ios 11 is lag ?

You can see some minor lag when 3D touching on apps on both iPhone 6s and 7 because the operating system doesn't seem to be ironed out. Let's hope Apple fixes this problem in the next update of iOS which would be 11.1. If you feel like your phone lags in other ares of iOS you can try doing a restore using iTunes. 🙂

This happens with both iPhone 8 and 8 Plus -- when "3D touch" pressing home screen apps the menu pops up in a way that lags towards the end of the animation. Easiest seen with the iBooks app or any app with a larger peek & pop menu. This does not occur on iOS 10!

Same exact thing. Also if you watch closely opening and closing some apps has very very low frame rates and stuttering. If you engage 3D Touch peek menu on your apps. It stutters just before the peek bubble reaches full-size. I have also noticed lots of scrolling bugs on several native apps like the App Store and a weird safari scrolling glitch on these apple forums! i honestly thought it was my phone but this is definitely a bad iOS released think

I was thinking maybe the same speed would be there but really disappointed. Hope Apple is taking a note of these things and will rectify it soon. The most annoying is the 3D Touch lag.

When I upgraded to ios 11 I suddenly felt sad after seeing the lag of 3d touch because in ios 10 it was as speedy as flash and today for the first time I used iphone 8 and 8 plus and I saw the same lag so now I'm happy because it's not happening with me because of my old iphone but it is also happening on new iPhones so I hope apple will fix it. I'm very new on ios and I love 3d touch feature

I have this issue too, iPhone 7 on 11.0, 11.0.1, 11.0.2 and now on 11.0.3.

I kept updating thinking the update will fix it, but it didn't.

However, according to what I saw from iOS 11.1 beta4, it seems the issue will be resolved in 11.1 (Hopefully)

No - its not. I have the most up to date iPad and the problems have just started to appear when I loaded IOS 11.1.

Guys - not sure where the prioritisation is with Apple these days but screens which lag, having to reboot on several occasions to get apps to work, batteries which drain faster than you can charge them - appear, as a consumer, to be major priorities.

Unfortunately, Apple is loosing the PR war on this one, and it do not seem to be responding quickly enough.

I understand complexity BUT customer expectations are that these things don't happen and you sort them out when you do. There will come a time when if you continue to build in or fail to address these issues quickly then we wont buy!

These are really frustrating issues and everyone is telling you the same.

Same issue with my iPhone 7 running iOS11. iOs 11.0.1 is out and still no luck. I hope Apple is aware of this issue. iOS 11 after all is great until I noticed the lag.

I’m having the same issue. It’s almost like it’s hesitating. Perhaps the 7 cannot process as quicky as the 8?

Also gestures are missing like safari brings you on first page when tap on the bottom

Hi Tomkhoi0987. The lag is caused by the new multitasking features. A tap/hold must now be longer to confirm that you're not trying to multitask. So, it's basically a feature of the new system.

I recommend all who are having this problem to update to iOS 11.1 it's already fixed. Cheers apple!
