How to avoid unintentional taps on Apple Watch with wet sleeves?

Hello!

I'm using the 1st gen Apple Watch (sports model) and when I use it together with sweaters / jackets which gets wet by condense or sweat, my watch starts behave strange, most because it reacts to unintentional taps. In a previous version it was possible to lock the watch from the control center, but it seems like it's now disabled... Do anyone else have the same problem and how do you then avoid the unintentional taps?

Under the current version of watchOS, with Wrist Detection turned on, it is not possible to manually lock Apple Watch such that the passcode needs to be entered to unlock it again. Your watch will instead lock automatically upon being removed from your wrist.

(For Series 2 and Series 3 models, Water Lock can be used to prevent accidental screen interactions, but this feature is not available for 1st generation models).

If you would like to request that Apple restores the option to manually lock your watch whilst still wearing it and with Wrist Detection still enabled, then you can do so here:
