field test mode iOS 11

Since Field Test Mode has been removed in iOS 11 is there a workaround to getting it back or will this be released in an upcoming update? I work in telecommunications and rely on this setting daily so it would be really good to have it back. Thanks

The ability to replace bars with the signal strength number was removed with the 10.3.1 update and there is no way to do that now. Take a look under Serving Cell Measurement. That is generally where your dBm indicators are located. Also several people have told me that they need to reboot the phone to get the numbers to show up. More often for the Qualcomm chipset.

Hi All,

Actually to get the Signal Bar on Top Left Corner to Display the -XXXdBm Permanently, it would be:

1) *3001#12345#*

2) Press Power button until showing Power Off slider. Do not 'off'

3) Press Home button until Field Measurement App exit to toggle display mode.

Well at least it always worked for my iPhone 6 iOS 10.3.1.

Now I have a question, I just bought iPhone X and there is NO HOME button!!! So how on earth do I make the dBm -XXX display Permanently on the Signla Bar??!!

It does not display in the upper left on the home screen anymore. The chipset/carrier for your phone does make a difference and usually not the iOS update. If you don't have the settings in the field test menu now you probably won't find them with the latest update. I've seen it work on iPhones with T-Mobile and Verizon with iOS 10.3.2 and higher in the menu under Serving Cell Meas/rsrp0 and under Measurement RSSI. However, some people are saying they can't find either of those menu options with their chipset/carrier.

I have read that Apple won’t bring field test back because they say it is not accurate. Thay won’t tell you what the signal strength for the bars is. They claim it is per carrier. Verizon won’t tell you either. They don’t want you to know how bad their signal is especially if you live in a marginal area like I do. Can’t get service from another carrier. They are all the same-not customer friendly.
