How do you delete emails from the lock screen in ios 11?
You can no longer delete email messages from your lock screen. When you select "trash", it looks like it deletes, but the message remains in the inbox.

I just upgraded to 11.2 beta 4 and can now delete emails from the lock screen!!!
Actually, you are right, I had only upgraded my iPad, just did that on my iPhone and it now works too. 11.2.1 definitely works, apologies for the confusion I created!
Good news guys! I installed iOS 11.2 public beta 4 and this issue is resolved. I’ve tested with both O365 and outlook.com.
Hoping for an official release soon.. rolling back now.
Hi all,
I have the same problem. I hoped, that this bug would be fixed in iOS 11.1 but I still cannot delete E-Mails directly from the lockscreen on my iPhone 7 with 3Dtouch. Worked all fine before in iOS 10. Also Apple Support dont have a solution.
Please fix it Apple !
Greetings from Germany
Strange.. it’s definitely fixed for me with 11.2.1. I just tested it right now.
It is still present in iOS 11.1 and apparently it only affects office365 mailboxes, on gmail the behaviors is the expected one and doesn’t create problems. Of course with ios 10.x there were no issues at all!
Same problem, both iPhone 6s and 5s. Works with my Gmail account, but doesn't work with Exchange.
I just realized that essentially all functionality of banner alerts for Mail has been lost. I just received an email while using the phone, and tapped on the banner, expecting it take me to the email. It’s simply opened the Mail application. It did not take me to the email itself.
How is this not being addressed? 70 new emojis, but email still doesn’t work properly. Amazing.
Same issue with iPhone X and current iOS. Shame because this forces me to use outlook for iOS. Love the intelligent filing suggestions in iOS mail and the integration with Calendar and Siri... so hoping this gets fixed and I can switch back to native mail. This bug is too annoying to deal with for people who get a lot of email.
I just installed iOS 11.1.2 and the issue still happens. Again, no mention in the release notes but I always try this as soon as I install an update. iPhone X with Office 365 email. Delete or Archive from notification screen appears to work (notification disappears without error). But the message is in the mailbox untouched. hoping for a fix soon! I like Mail app way more than Outlook, but I cannot get past this so I have to settle.
Updated to 11.1.2 and this problem STILL hasn't been fixed. What does it take to get apple to fix something? Incredibly annoying when you can't manage your email from the lock screen if you're a heavy email user; prohibitive even.
What else can we do to get Apple to listen??
It may be interesting to see if the ongoing 11.2 beta is fixing this issue somehow. Being a beta there is space for feedbacks as Apple pays attention. Myself don’t have access to the beta program and cannot brick the main terminal, but I post anyway the idea in case someone could.
I am part of the public beta program.. I could upgrade my iPhone, but not until next week. I don’t like running on beta and it would take a few hours to back up, upgrade, test, then roll back. But I’m thinking 11.2 will be available very soon based on the cadence of the beta releases. We‘ll know soon either way! 🏻
halleluja!!! for f... sake, that took for ever!! people do like to be effective on their phones too.! many thanks for the beta users here to confirm this is resolved! I'll wait for 11.2 to come out for normalos like me
I'm having this same issue on iPhone 7. I can push delete or mark as read on the lock screen, but it does nothing.
