Belkin Media Reader for Ipod

I have just purchased a Belkin Media (Card) Reader, a portable device specifically for use with Ipods.

Unfortunately, when I attach it to my Ipod 60gb Video, it (my Ipod) states that the Reader is not compatible. I'm a wee bit annoyed as it wasn't suggested that this was the case when I purchased it, anyway, can anyone help? Does anyone know of a fix for this, so that I can use the Reader with my Ipod Video. Thanks in advance for any help.
