Problem with iOS 11 and Bluetooth with BMW

Had the same issue. Unpaired the phone and paired it back again with the car. Seems to be working now.

Try deleting the pairing on both phone & car.

Then pair again but give you phone a new pair name distinct from old name

I have the same problem with my BMW X5 40e. My iPhone 7 plus worked perfect on CarPlay. When i got my iPhone X and tried to connect, it took several tries. Once i got it connected, half of the apps didn't function as good, sometimes my display didn't recognize touch. After 15mins my idrive kept rebooting with eventually resetting it automatically to factory settings and removing all my connected drive functions. I had to bring my car in at the dealership. They had to reinstall all idrive software and were unable to connect the new iPhone properly. They said that they had many customers with the same problem, all were iPhone 8 or X owners. All unable to get connected or work properly with CarPlay. BMW is aware of the situation but they say it its an Apple Problem.

Nope. That does not work at all. You can delete Bluetooth from iPhone and car and reset and start but it DOES NOT WORK. It is a problem with the update. No one should fall for a reset as that deletes your settings and accomplishes NOTHING. Do not trust anyone who claims resets as they have not tried it on their phones and suggest as a misguide. Ha ha. Funny but really showcases your ineptitude and impoliteness. Apple is the only one that can solve this. Nothing else helps.

I’ve tried this, but the issue returns. I have to keep rebooting my phone to make it not jump off of Bluetooth.

Didn't solve this problem on my end. Repeated unpairing/pairing multiple times, even with reboots in between etc. Nothing seems to solve it so far. Running iOS 11.1.2 on iPhone X.

I have the same issues with my honda vehicle and iPhone since doing the iOS 11 updates. I have unpaired and paired the phone several times, and it's steering wheel buttons are non functioning with iPhone! Very frustrating.

I have the same problems with a 2015 528i.

I agree, I tried to reset connection from my iphone 8 with my car, but after two calls, the problem is the same

I did the same with my BMW 320d. I have a new iPhone 8 and I have the same problem. My BMW dealer told me the same thing. Apple may be so blind?

Its not the phone , its the new upgrade ios 11,

I guess we have to wait for an executive who drives a BMW and realize that they suck. Tried to uninstall the upgrade but didn’t work.:(
