Can you use an alcohol wipe to clean oily substances from the iPhone se screen?

Can you clean makeup and other oily residue off of an iPhone se screen with an alcohol wipe? Several screen protectors come with this instruction for prepping the screen before applying.

iPhone SE, iOS 10, New phone (makeup gets on screen)

Hi troyprofessor ,

I understand that you have some questions about cleaning makeup and other oily things from the screen of your iPhone. I'm happy to provide some help for this.

Check out what our article has to say below:

Cleaning your iPhone - Apple Support

To remove fingerprints, wipe these surfaces with a soft, lint-free cloth. The ability of this coating to repel oil will diminish over time with normal use, and rubbing the screen with an abrasive material will further diminish its effect and might scratch the glass .

I know not to use an abrasive substance or cloth, but, when I wipe the screen with nothing but a soft damp cloth, all this does is smear the makeup. I need to remove it. Again, like I said before, sceen protectors (tempered glass for ex.) come with directions stating to clean your screen with an alcoholic wipe. I don't know of any other way to cut the grease. Are you saying that alcohol will damage the screen? My phone is brand new, less than a week old, and is covered with cream makeup foundation. I need to remove it. I would never use any abrasive on the screen.
