Wrong song order in iOS 11

Hello!

After updating to iOS11 I have a problem:

1) I made some album preorders in iTunes.

2) Today is the day when it downloaded to my iPhone.

3) Songs order is incorrect.

The songs which were opened for downloading earlier are at the bottom of the tracklist now. This thing brings me butthurt and suffering.

Don't know where to put this discussion, it's not belong to 'Apple Music' or 'iTunes', but I couldn't find iOS thread.

Maybe there's some settings to fix it? Help, please!

Hi Satanic Schoolgirls,

I understand several songs are out of order on an album. Since it looks like you are an Apple Music Member, let's have you remove the songs from your device and download it again. You may need to remove the whole album and download it again. Take a look at the information in the links below for the steps on this process.

Delete music from Library

Add and download music, shows, and movies from the Apple Music catalog

Please let us know if the issue persists, and thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

Cheers.

This should be the number one result on this thread. Worked with no problems on my iPhone6S+. Thanks for the advice.

I have iOS11.2.2 on my iPhone 8+ and I have the solution to the issue of songs downloading out of order on a pre-ordered album. Looking at the top right corner is three dots, click on that and then click Love. That will rearrange songs to proper order, then click love again to turn that off and now you're good to go.

Hello!

Thank you for answer!

I'm not an Apple Music Member, I prefer to buy music from iTunes Store.

I had a lot of difficulties with that yesterday.. Also my PC version of iTunes doesn't connect to iTunes Store anymore after updating to 12.7. So, then I tried to delete downloads from iPhone, but when I pressed 'Remove download', It deleted only older songs (downloaded earlier from PC), other songs could be deleted with 'Delete from Library' only. So, I tried to remove it / unhide from Apple ID / redownload again.. and then Music app froze and deleted ALL music from iPhone ITSELF.. (I have 120 gigabytes of downloaded music, It erased EVERYTHING, I never had anything like that before..).

After several hours of reuploading all the music back from PC and re-downloading last purchases from Store, it is at right order now..)

I hope this will be fixed with future releases of iOS.. But now, I'm a little bit afraid of preordering music at iTunes))

I guess, the trouble happens when preorder album has some early-access tracks synced to iPhone by PC, and by the release date iPhone completes the album from iTunes store, then Music app can not manage with that and happens something like at screenshot above...

I have a huge experience of using iTunes and already bought/preordered hundreds of albums, but never seen any problems like that before 🙂

Hello there. This issue was really upsetting me as well. I did figure out a simple fix (not sure if its been mentioned yet or not). Why i did was i deleted the song on my playlist on my iphone. I then went back into itunes. Make sure the iphone shows in sync mode. Manually add the song while it is playing in itunes (press the 3 dots beside it) and add to DEVICE. It added as it is in the same playlist. This worked for me on songs. Its a pain to do it for a bunch though.

I found the easiest way to sort downloaded CD's is to put all in a Playlist. Generally each disc will be numbered in order, i.e., CD Name - track 1 - disc 7. Select all of the last CD and drag it to the top of the list. Then select the next to last CD and drag it above to the top. If you continue to do this by selecting all the CDs (in reverse order), you will end up with CD #1 at the top with all the others in order below it. Hope this helps someone.

I have the same issue.

Both Pre-ordered and "Complete-My-Album" purchases end up doing this on iOS 11.1; iPhone-8.

Deleting the album from within the MUSIC app and re-downloading iTunes Store does NOT work for me.

I have also gone the SETTINGS/MUSIC/Downloaded Music/ARTIST-NAME and deleted from there and it too fails to resolve the issue when re-downloaded via iTunes Store app on the phone.

In fact I have noticed when re-downloading the whole album via the iTunes Store app, if you tap "Downloads" the order in which the downloads themselves are listed are also INCORRECT and identical to the incorrect order I originally was showing in the MUSIC app.

If anyone can help that would be great.

My problem is in iTunes itself, not on my device. Not only does it put tracks 1-13 under tracks 14-30, but when I play the album, it literally stops at track 13 as if it's the end of the album. How is it 2018 and iTunes is so awful? Even right now, consistent with the past 3 days, it just won't launch. I have to reboot before it'll launch if I open it and close it previously. Not good quality at all 😟
