Photos with .aae extension (and their associated jpg file) are not seen by Windows 10 computer (and are therefore not transferred)

I have an iPhone 6SE and have used the iPhone editing feature to edit photos taken on a recent holiday. I have a Windows 10 desktop. When I connect my iPhone to transfer files onto the desk top, it only "sees" and transfer the ohotos that I have edited in the .aae extension format - making it unreadable on the phto apps of the windows system. It does NOT transfer a jpg or png file associated with the .aae file (i.e. the original photo as taken without the edits). I have tried all possible methods (including the Windows 10 app companion fo thr OneDrive) - none of them "sees" the original file. How can I transfer these files in a readable format without sending each p(edited) photo individually?

Howdy mitzy2015,

I understand that, having edited some photos on your iPhone, you're seeing those photos as .AAE files on your computer. Fortunately we've an article that provides additional information about what you're seeing, as well as steps for getting converted copy of that photo imported to your computer in an expected format.

What to expect when you import edited photos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to your Mac or PC

All my best!

The problem is that we cannot see all photos that actually exist on the explorer function. Even if we select ALL photos to be transferred, many photos (neither jpg nor aa.e format) are simply not transferred as not recognised by the computer. (phone connected with desktop and phone files shown via explorer). How can this be possible and rectified?
