Touch not working with case on watch os4

I have the same issue too and have submitted feedback/bug report to apple.

I have noticed that if you disable "wrist detection" on the watch (on iphone: watch app - passcode - wrist detection) it works perfectly and is a lot more responsive.

Whilst this doesnt fix the bug, it allows a workaround in the meantime. Albeit at the sacrifice of the wrist detection, unlock with iphone and possibly other features.

I saw on another post that folks said if you go to passcode and turn off wrist detection the screen will function like normal again. That worked for me! Hopefully Apple fixes this soon!

This happens because Watch OS 4 now runs your watch with a higher screen sensitivity in an attempt to make movements more fluid in the new OS and improve response of apps. This can not be adjusted. Ok so i bought a silicon full case from eBay for the watch and it works perfectly with OS 4.0. It even is more responsive in the touch than the plastic hard case cover. So i recommended it

I have the same issue and it drive me crazy! Screen protector working fine, after updated to watch 4, you can not move through the apps or touch any button, this is beyond crazy !! how on earth does something like this happens with only an updated firmware.

I fortunately had another screen protector more low deisgn and value and that it worked. My high end screen protector specifically for 38mm series 2 watch does not work.

Thank you! I have just read that turning the wrist detection off works. If you take the watch off your wrist it will work fine, once you put it on that's when the screen issues happen with a protector on.

Keep in mind that you need to remove the wrist bands and attach the case as it covers up and down so it is not easily removable but i'm ok with that for now

Yeah, they(Apple) told me it works as it should without the case that the problem is the case. I told them it worked absolutely flawless on Watch is 3.2.3 and below but when I put os 4 on it worked for the first two or three touches after that then was unresponsive after that. I’d rather have the screen function as it did before(I didn’t find it laggy or anything) and allow me to protect my device. I damaged slightly a Watch both screen and case so I refuse to wear it unprotected and not have to replace a screen or have it look poor after what I spent for it.

Yes i agree with that and the weird thing for me is other. I have a screen protector that is for watch series 1 even though i have watch series 2, the cuttings are not correct on the speaker on the left side but it fits even though it create a few air bubbles on the screen. This protector works perfectly fine! My new one which bought for series 2 and is more expensive more robust and doesn't create any air bubbles thus it fits perfectly does not work!

I have sent several emails to sellers on ebay to ask them if their screen protector works with os 4.0 but i have no reply from anyone. Does anybody have something to suggest that it works ?

awesome! dont have a passcode so it is redundant that setting, disable it put on my old cover and it is working....so strange that apple screw this up so much on this weird issue.

ok, one drawback. If you disable this setting then you get alerts on the phone as well. Which i do not like as it doesnt detect that you are wearing the watch and you get two alerts. **** it ! I would wait for a feedback from apple, lets hope that it will get noticed.
