The ipad cannot be synced. An internal device error occurred.

I have been working on this with Apple Support for a month -- yes, 30 days. Troubleshooting ad nauseam. Sent them files they captured on my machine. No resolution.

Outrageous that a modern iPad with updated software can not execute the most basic operation on a Mac -- sync my photos.

Complete utter BS.

And all they say is, "we understand. we apologize."

Having the same problem. Updated iPad Pro to IOS11.1 beta 5 and issue still present. I have more than 100,000 photos so resyncing 100s of times is not an option for me. Tried turning on and off iCloud Photo Library and even wiped the device clean and restored it and internal error still occurring every few 100 photos. Also tried deleting ipod photo cache.

Have you heard anymore on this issue? I went to apple and they provided a new (same model) iPad Pro 9.7in all was well on ios10 until I upgraded to ios11. Now the new iPad is saying the same “internal error” issue as my original iPad Pro.

I just bought this new Ipad 5th generation and having problems sinc photos from computer to this Ipad.

Have this problem too. They told me to update iTunes which I didn’t want to do. Then a security update. Then they made me do iTunes update. All the time telling me each update would solve the issue. Then when it didn’t they tried to make me update to high Sierra. They said because I wouldn’t do that they couldn’t help me anymore. Told me iTunes is not compatible with el captain -not true as I have the version which meet the min requirements. Told me it would never work with el captain And that if I wanted it to work I should not have updated to the latest iOS. All this bs from a sassy senior advisor.

Having the same problem on both my ipad and iphone .... getting apple gadgets is because it is easier to sync with my Mac Book pro. Unfortunately, Apple OS and iTunes is not user friendly anymore .... very frustrated. I was thinking to move over to icloud but after more than 10 years of usage, how am I going to use icloud of my thousand of songs and over 35 thousands of photo in my photo library?

I have the same problem, and I have also been round and round with Apple. So true, the first level of support doesnt seem aware of the issue or how to correct it. I’m now working with my 2nd senior level advisor. Hopefully, he will be able to help me out.

I’ve also worked with a senior advisor, who worked with senior engineers. They don’t know what’s wrong and said hopefully it will be fixed in a future update. No timeline given. I think it’s an iTunes software issue.

Well, I guess I shouldn't be too optimistic for an timely answer. How long have you had this problem, and how long has Apple known about it?

They didn’t even to appear to be aware of the problem when I contacted them.

My problem began when I updated to iOS 11.1.2 as well. I’ve updated my iPhone as well as my iPad, however, I’ve only tried to sync my iPad since the update. I’m scared to sync my iPhone becpause I don’t want to lose my photos on that device too. I sure hope that you are correct about a fix within the next month.

Wow, you’ve had this problem a month longer than I have. I always procrastinate in updating my iOS because I always seem to run into some sort of problem. I haven’t synced my iPhone since I’ve updated iOS so my iPhone is okay for right now. Most people that I know do use iCloud, but I’m also against that in principle. Hopefully, they can figure something in the near future.

Totally agree iCloud should not be the solution ... if yes, what's the point of having iTunes. iTunes function is getting lesser and lesser. Remove function of sync contact, remove function of sync App ... More importantly, been using Apple product for more than 10 years and keep almost more than 35,000 photos in my Mac Photo and more than 10,000 songs in iTunes, how to upload so many data to iCloud? This will end up one need to purchase more data space from iCloud, is very frustrated. All these frustration had become a motivation to change ... may be Apple will soon become the next Nokia .....

Yes, I love Apple, but iCloud will not be my solution. I’ve been using iTunes ever since I began with Apple products. You are right, I forgot that we used to be able to sync contacts, and now they removed the function of sync app. Frustrating!!!

Not sure but the frustrating is casing me to look for other solutions ... for a loyal user with so many GB data on Mac, using iCloud will means I have to pay US$9.99 monthly. I do not mind paying one time charges for iCloud storage but if need to pay monthly, that's become a periodical overhead. By paying a premium price on Apple product yet every month got to subscribe $9.99 on iCloud for storing of photo, music ..., it just doesn't sound smart to me.

If the problem is still present in 11.1.2 then I have little confidence that Apple will correct the issue anytime soon. If ever. Has anyone tried a third party photo storage app? And if so, how was it?
