Bricked iPhone 8 Plus

I received my iPhone 8 Plus today and was successful in activating it with AT&T, existing number. Instead of setting it at a mew phone like I usually do I did a restore from backup. It looked like all was good but then it went to a screen with the Apple logo with a progress bar that is only a few tick marks from the end and that's where it has been for the last 2 hours. I did a few restores for other reasons on other iPhones and it never took this long. Tried to do a hard reset and that did not work.

Any suggestions.

So I’m IT support at my company and managed to brick 2 iphone 8s today. Restoring iCloud backup of phone on 10.3.3 to new phone on 11. Like yours it got all the way over - one tick away from being done. It would not power off, would not hard reset even with the new button combo. I took it to Apple (luckily a mile away) and they proclaimed it bricked and needed replacing but had to go to Verizon. Verizon replaced and I started same process. Guess what? Same thing. Again could not get it to do anything with any combo of button pushes. Ended up with 3rd phone that we setup as new and will upgrade old phone to 11 and backup to computer on Monday and restore from that. Not happy at all. The spot it gets stuck at is not the screen where it’s pulling the backup from the cloud but the reboot where it loads the backup and is applying that. Hope we get a true fix soon!
