iphone 8 stuck in recover mode

I have tried this several times. I even took my first phone back and I am having the same problem with the new one. When I try to restore the new phone and update it, it will go so far and then will just sit on the restore screen. iTunes will give me an error that an unexpected error occurred.

I was able to bring mine out of recovery but just doing an update. When iTunes prompts you to either update or recover select update. Every time I tried to recover it would keep giving me an error, but when I only updated it went through. Mine could have been a one off but I hope it helps.

I have the same issue, apple support keeps sending me in circles and i cant get out of recovery mode

Mine was also stuck, tried restarts on phone several times, kept getting error codes. I realized the USB kept disconnecting while I was trying to update. I have an Apple battery on my phone, so, as a last ditch attempt, pulled the phone out of the battery pack and tried once more to update. Bam!!! Problem solved! It seems that with the battery plugged in to the phone, ITunes is trying to charge the pack and read/write to the phone. When it cuts the charge, it also disconnects the phone, thus generating the constant errors during update. Update finally completed and I have IoS 11.1 installed now!! Hope this helps some out......

If your iPhone 8 is stuck in recovery mode, you will need to connect it to a PC or Mac with iTunes and reset the phone's iOS from scratch and bring it out of recovery mode.

Turn iPhone off Make sure your pc is running the latest iTunes 12.7

Connect lead to USB on your pc

Press & hold just the power button down on iPhone don't let go

Connect lead to iPhone keep power button pressed down until pc sees iPhone Then wait for restore you may need to do this more than once Before it works.
