Unable to activate Apple Watch on T-Mobile

I get an "Activation Error" screen when trying to activate the LTE on my Stainless Series 3. Has anyone else seen this and found a way around it? TMo and Apple were no help at all.

Assuming you are on a personal and not business account; Did you try from the watch app on the iPhone to go to Cellular, click on the "i" on the right next to T-Mobile and then remove T-Mobile plan, Then add it back to reactivate again. That's how I and others got it to work.

Also what they don't tell you is if you have 5 or more internet devices (e.g. tablets) already on your account you will not be able to activate the watch unless you call T-Mobile to delete one of those devices first as they only allow a max of 5 non phone internet devices.

(Assuming you did not buy the watch from T-mobile, like me)

Call T-Mobile -- ask the representative to add your watch's EID number to their database.

That should do the trick. After they add it, just restart the watch.

Then, from the iPhone's Watch app - open 'cellular' and tap on setup cellular and follow the onscreen instructions. It should work this time.

Hope it helps.

I have a family plan, and 6 phone lines.

T-Mobile told me similar steps to click on "i" in the Cellular setting, but it's not on my setting page. I have not activated cellular service even once yet.

I have seen other people complaining about the same problem. I wish Apple could work with T-Mobile together to fix this problem. Otherwise, it's a very frustrating user experience.

I have the same issue with my Apple Watch saying “This account is not ready to use with Apple Watch. Contact your carrier for more information” I did and after several phone calls I was told that this is an issue with the Watch itself and Apple are currently working on an update. I contacted Apple Support and they confirmed this but could not give any further information apart from that it would be resolved via a software update.
