trying to download OS X El Capitan but keeps saying busy try again. what can i do it said the same thing last night.

iMac, erased original OS X already

I had the same issue with the phantom 25th September update. It wouldn't disappear until an attached hard disc containing the El Capitan 1.7.54 was removed from my system. Re-connecting the hard disc makes the "update available" return to the app store.


I wonder if the reason this is happening is a combination of the El Capitan install package being on an attached drive and the EL Capitan OS not showing as a "purchase" on my app store account?


Is there a way to fix the update available message without downloading an old version and re-installing?
