Turn off vibrate when plugged in for charging ios11

I updated to iOS 11 (big regret) and now when I plug my phone it to charge it vibrates despite vibrate when silent turned off. I have never had this issue before. My phone struggles to connect while charging so to have it constantly vibrating is very very frustrating.

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Community. I understand you have had some trouble while charging your iPhone that is causing repeated vibrations, and I have some information that may help.

To turn off the vibration you get when you plug your phone in to charge, go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > System Haptics (it's at the bottom of that screen).

If you have not already, it's always a good idea to restart your phone as described in the article below.

I have this same issue. I tried restarting but it did not help.
Having the phone on silent does not help as the haptics still fire.

It only starts when the phone nears full charge.
