Freeze on Home Screen after unlock - iPhone 8 Plus

Hi there

I received my iPhone 8 Plus 256GB on Friday.

All was well until I woke up this morning.

Every time I unlock my phone, the phone freezes on my home screen. I can see my apps, but the screen is totally unresponsive, so I can’t open any of them, or move to another page.

Upon locking, I can get to the notification centre, and the screen is responsive all over when I slide to open any notifications. But doesn’t allow me to open them.

I can also get to the control centre - again, every where seems to work and press and respond on touch.

The phone doesn’t allow me to turn off via lock button, nor does it allow me to reset with the lock and home button combo, so I can’t reset these ways.

Anyone encountered anything like this in the past? I’ve never had this before.

Are there any other ways to reset?
