I'm sure I set my passcode as letters, same as my iPad, but it's asking me for numbers so I can't put it in. What do I do?

Hi. I recently got an iPhone. I think it's the iPhone 6 . It's not the latest one. I set up a passcode last week and I'm pretty sure I did it as letters, same as my iPad (it asks for 6 digits). I've been using the Touch ID and now it's asking for my passcode, I cant open it because it's showing me numbers. There are 3 small letters showing under each number, but I have no idea how to select a letter. Can anyone help me please?

iPhone 6s, iOS 6

Hi Chezzyannep,

Congratulations on your iPhone! I understand that your iPhone up to have an alphanumeric passcode and Touch ID, but you're being prompted to enter your passcode and aren't given a keyboard, but a number pad. I know it's important to be able to access your iPhone and I'm happy to help with this. You haven't mentioned if you've restarted your iPhone since seeing the number pad instead of the keyboard; if you haven't I'd suggest using these steps: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you continue to see the number pad when being prompted to enter your passcode, you'll need to follow the steps here: If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled

Best Regards.
