iOS 11 on iPad Pro 9.7 very slow

I got the iPad Pro 9.7 128GB for its speed and performance.

I got this device for about 60k and now on iOS 11 it feels like im using iOS 10 on iPhone 5.

it lags a lot. all the animations have a stutter. And everything takes forever to load. It’s not smooth. It is visually depressing to see a new device perform this way. Please find a way to solve this. And also please could someone else confirm if their device is performing in a similar way. I have tried hard resetting and also even restored to get the same exact results. Please help.

Other things to look at.

In Settings app, General settings panel, turn OFF Background App Refresh.

In Settings app, under General settings, Reset panel, at the right bottom of the list, Reset All Settings.

Also, in general, if you want a faster IDevice, on all of my iDevices, I turn off most of the iOS motion graphics eye candy, by simply turning ON Reduce Motion in Settings app, General, Accessibilty settings.

Make sure you aren't running scads and scads of background apps in the iOS 11 Control Panel/App Switcher.

If you are, you need to quit the bulk of these background running apps by tap and hold a finger on an app window in the switcher and slide your finger upwards to quit an app. You should be able to use more than one finger to quit more than one app simultaneously.

Also, make sure you don’t have scads and scads of active website tabs running in the web browser.

If you do, greatly reduce the amount of active website tabs your web browser.

So far, you are the only one reporting a slow down on a 9.7 inch iPad Pro.

I asked you, but you never confirmed, is the iPad Pro slow across the board or only when you access apps that need a Wifi Internet connection?

Did you try using your iPad by temporarily turning off Wifi and try using some apps that don't need Wifi or Internet to work.

I am trying to confirm possible MODEM/Wifi router issues.

I updated my ipad air this week and wish I hadn't; it can take up to a minute to open any application regardless of what is running. I have 64GB Ipad with 39 GB available and use this ipad for mainly reading. I find that I have to select app 2 times to get it to finally open after almost 1 minute of the app freezing on my display.

Any ideas on how to speed this up would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried a hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons?

Try turning OFF Bluetooth when NOT using any Bluetooth devices.

In Settings App, turn OFF Background App Refresh.

Try turning OFF any apps or settings that give constant access to iCloud.

Good Luck!

A bunch of recent iPad Air 1 and 2 posts reported that if you do a Reset All Settings, found in the Settings app, under General, Reset, that their iPad Air models were working better.

Not sure why this works, but about 2 dozen iPad Air users reported a significant improvement.

Same results for some iPhone 6/6s users, also.

Wouldn't hurt to try this.

Good Luck!
