Turn off notification in settings for apple pay

Hi, just upgraded to iPhone 8, iOS 11. I can't get rid of the red dot in settings for finish setting up your iPhone regarding Apple Pay. I don't want to set up Apple Pay but I can't get rid of it and its now reminding me in lock screen! Thanks

Becky was wrong.

The way you turn it off is to go foward as if to set it up. You will be prompted to enter your apple id, password. After your signed in select the option at the bottom to set up later in wallet. -

Hi becky,

You do not understand correctly. The notification is not from the Wallet application. The notification is located in Settings > Finish Setting Up Your iPhone

As far as I am concerned, I *am* finished setting up my iPhone. The phone in question is a corporate owned phone and all necessary applications are already installed. I have no need to add a credit card as there are no purchases that will be made on the phone and would like purchases to be impossible on this phone for security. However, every day the phone reminds me that I need to finish setting up my iPhone.

I would like to know if it's possible to stop this message, or if the only solution is to add a credit card and remove it later.

Hello lipics.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

If I'm understanding correctly, you are looking for a way to turn off the Apple Pay red dot badge. I will be happy to help with this.

Check out these steps to locate your Wallet app in the notifications menu. Here is where you can turn off the notification or red dot. This is from our article:

Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Change alert styles and settings for notifications

Customize your notifications with different alert styles so you can quickly act on emails, calendar invites, messages, and more.

To add or change an alert style for a notification, go to Settings > Notifications and select an app. Here are some alert styles that you can choose:

  • Allow Notifications: Turn on to get notifications from the app you selected.
  • Sounds: Have an app play a sound to alert you when you receive a notification.
  • Show on Lock Screen: Turn on to see notifications from the app on your Lock screen.
  • Show in History: See previous notifications from the app you select.
  • Banners: Choose how you want notifications to appear when your device is unlocked. Tap Temporary to have alerts appear on the screen and then go away. Or tap Persistent to have alerts stay on the screen until you act on it.
  • Show Previews: Choose what you want to see when you get a notification, like a text message

Cheers.
