Android Wear - IOS 11 issue

Just got the IPhone8 running final release of ios 11. I'm coming from android(first iPhone). On initial set up my Huawei watch 1 running Android wear 2.0 it paired fine with the phone. I noticed an hour or so later it was no longer paired. I tried toggling bluetooth, restarting phone and watch, forgetting watch and starting fresh, and uninstalling/reinstalling app. The watch will no longer pair to the phone. Scouring the interwebs has told me I'm not the only one. It appears there are bluetooth issues with ios 11. Reverting back to 10.3.3 will fix this. I'm new to the iPhone and would rather wait for a fix or work around. Does anyone know of a fix or work around or am I waiting on Apple?
