I dropped my phone in the toilet but it seems fine. How can I tell for sure?

Iphone 6S, IOS 11. Not sure what to do to make sure it is fine.

If the phone got dropped in water, it touch water.


While the LDI turning red is one indicator of water damage, it is possible to do damage and not have it turn colors (and vice versa).

Ideally, you should leave the phone off, in a warm, dry place for a couple of days, at the very least. Turning it on or charging it accelerates any damage. But, apparently, that ship has sailed. Do NOT use a hair dryer on wet electronics. You are simply forcing the water deeper inside.


As kb1951 indicates, you should start saving for the new iPhone now. Water damage tends to be progressive.
