Markup has three different tools, with different pen line thicknesses. Choose the drawing tool, then you can also vary Pencil pressure to further adjust the line properties.

If you’re not seeing the different pen tools, try a Restart.

There is a software defect. The line width gets smaller when the pencil is tilted, so a work-around is to tilt the pencil to get a thinner line. It operates the OPPOSITE of the way it’s supposed to work. It should work just like a real pencil. I reported this error during beta testing of IOS 11.0 back in August. This defect:

- Is an egregious defect in Apple’s flagship product, making them look like fools.

- Would make Steve Jobs turn over in his grave.

- Must be corrected ASAP.

- Was working fine in IOS 10. Why did Apple revert to a defective state?

Tilting the apple pencil makes it only slightly thinner.

This is a really annoying bug, I can draw a thinner line than using my Apple Pencil. I want to be able to write thinner lines with the pencil using the pen function not the pencil.

Apple, surely you should be able to fix this. What’s the point of having an IPad Pro with a pencil if you can only write huge characters (due to the thickness of the line) in Markup, you might as well use your finger and a normal Ipad save yourself hundreds...
