How do I eject a flash drive from my MacBook pro

How do I eject a flash drive or other usb device from my MacBook pro?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

i dont' have a menu like that to choose from.

Finer does not help find the eject button

the eject button is not lit up.

there is nothing i put it that brings up eject

i dont want flash in the trash, i need the info

Choose Computer from the Finder’s Go menu, control-click it, and choose to eject it. If it shows up on the desktop or in the Finder’s sidebar, it can also be ejected from those places.


USB devices other than hard or flash drives can often just be unplugged.
