Choose Computer from the Finder’s Go menu, control-click it, and choose to eject it. If it shows up on the desktop or in the Finder’s sidebar, it can also be ejected from those places.
USB devices other than hard or flash drives can often just be unplugged.

Hi,
I usually just click on the eject sign next to the name of it in the Sidebar, or you can drag the desktop icon of it to the trash can.

Check if it can be ejected as described above. If it doesn’t show up in the Computer window and isn’t currently in use, unplug it.

If you are using light room or similar programs to import your photos they eject the camera for you. therefor you will not see the option to eject
