change game center account with ios 11

I cannot seem to find a way to change game center accounts. The kids had separate accounts, this helps to end arguments. But now there doesn't seem to be a way to change accounts unless there is a iTunes/App store account attached. Children do not have app accounts.

I tried entering the email address to change accounts but since they do not have an apple id attached to their email it will not accept it.

In settings go to Gamce center. If you are logged in with the primary Apple ID account, there is a blue link at the bottom of the page (use different Apple ID for Game center). Select it and you will be prompted. Select the 2nd option (not “persons name”?). An Apple ID login page will be displayed. Enter your Apple ID credentials.

If you are using a secondary account and want to switch back to your primary, in the Game center applet in settings, under the Game centre on/off option, there is a blue link (use se your primary apple account). Select the link and click the 1st option (continue). This will log you back into your primary Apple ID for Game Center.

I’ve used both and it only logs you out of Game Center and logs you in with the other account. You’re primary account stays logged into iCloud, iTunes and App Store.

I found how to do it, thanks. It’s a bit different if you don’t ever use your primary account. I do not have a Game Center account attached to my Apple ID, so I don’t have a Blue link at the bottom.

Setting - Game Center - then you need to turn the game center switch off then on.

When box pops up you chose that your not primary acct, then enter in the name and password of the GC account.

Same here: I have contected my AppleId with several gamecenter IDs for my kids. For example Adam is using Ipad 1 with my AppleID and his own email—adress as gamecenter ID, so Carmen is using IPad 2 with my AppleID and her own email—adress as well... and of course I‘m using my own Gamecenter account with my AppleID.

Both kids do not have AppleIDs.

Please tell me the way how to connect the Kids to gamecenter without own AppleID!

Technically you can do it within the settings app (settings > Game Center) but there seems to be a glitch preventing me from actually changing accounts. It has the button/process to do it at the bottom of the screen ("Use a different Apple ID for Game Center" but it doesn't actually do anything when I click on it.

I know this isn't much help (unless the glitch is only on my device) but hopefully they will fix it and at least you'll know how to do it in the future. x

TLDR: What actually made it work again is when I reconnected to wifi.

I had the same issue today - tapping the little blue link at the bottom and choosing "not you" did nothing - it would not let me log out and enter a different user. Was super frustrating as this sort of thing used to work fine. Rebooting didn't work. Only by coincidence I found that connecting to wifi made it work again.
