Updated itunes. Have v.12. What happened toAPPS and update Apps?

That's just great. Did they manage to give us a different way to organize the apps on our devices. That made it so convenient when organizing apps on iPhone. Using the iPhone to organize apps is time consuming and just not fun. So nice to grab an app and slide it to any page or group. Steve wouldn't have taken something like that away.

That is an intentional change in design/capability in the most recent iTunes. See: Changes in the new iTunes - Apple Support

You can now find all your apps on your iPhone, even the ones you have deleted. Go to App Store, click on your photo in the top right corner, click on Purchased. You will see all the apps you have purchased, even the free ones. They are stored in iCloud and you can download any you want.

Agree. Why would you make users leave iTunes to go to another location and on your phone - to update. And apparently there is no "update all" any longer? So you have to update individually?

One thing Jobs knew about was simplicity. It seems with each update, Apple gets farther away from that core principal....
