Why don't I have portrait mode on my new iphone 8

iPhone 8 was never advertised as having this feature. So it's perfectly right and you should have bought the 8 Plus if this feature was important to you. If you want Portrait Mode, you have 14 days from purchase to return it and get the phone that has the features you want.

Where pray tell does Apple advertise the iPhone 8 as having Portrait mode? Please do tell us.

Portrait mode requires the secondary camera only available in Plus models of iPhones.

It's never been available in the regular models.

Yes, it is right. The 8 Plus has 2 lenses, the 8 does not.

LOL. It Was NEVER advertised as an available feature of iPhone 8. It was always advertised as a feature of iPhone 8 Plus. You didn’t compare specifications. That’s not Apple’s fault. It’s your fault.

That option requires an iPhone 8 Plus.

What do you want us to think, since portrait mode is not available on the iPhone 8?

I just stumbled upon this issue as well. However I take full ownership as I understand that I misinterpreted the details between the 2 models. But in the defense of others, not everyone wants to carry a tablet in their pocket, yet still wants to take advantage of options / technology that is available to the product. I think Apple could have been a little more clear about the differences, because until now I never even noticed the statements in the commercials. It wasn't until I looked it up on their website that I noticed the difference between the two models and then went back to the commercials that aired and realized it is indeed mentioned on them.

That is one of the reasons why a plus is a PLUS. If not it would be a regular model...

I wholeheartedly agree..I’ve reluctantly decided to give up portrait mode in favor of the smaller size..

It’s ridiculous that Apple advertises it as a available on iPhone 8. I am returning this phone.
