There have been some court cases in the U.S. that say you can't be compelled to give you your passcode. However, the precedents are less clear on fingerprints. You should consult your attorney immediately. In the U.S., you do not have to speak to the police without an attorney. IANAL.
Just so you know, the FBI themselves were unable to get into a suspect's phone and requested the assistance of Apple which Tim Cook denied.
They then went to get help from a private company that charged quite a lot of money to get into the device, and took them a couple of weeks. I doubt the local Police has better techniques or resources than the FBI.
Not if it is activation locked.
Impossible.
you mean the code i have to put into open it? cuz its locked. but they said they just hook it up to some machine and it gets everything off of it.
They are lying. Typical interrogation procedure. There is no law preventing the police from lying to you regarding the evidence they have against you.
they said they're getting a search warrant from a judge and they'll be right in it. they are full of **** right? plus i have it set to erase through 'find my iPhone' as soon as its turned on.
i hope you're right. ill let it be known if they get into it.
they have me stressed out!
