Well at least you can still enable/disable Wi-Fi; that’s something I can’t even do anymore... reboot doesn’t fix anything anymore.

I'd say if reboots or shutdowns and power ons

don't eliminate the fix then it's probably persistent.

I'd make backup now.

The one I'm on now went out in only a few months.

If you're under warranty and it appears so, do so before it expires.

My SSID is already, and aways was, unhidden. I think this is not a solution. Maybe work´s for a time only.

Man, this last update last night

Knocked the wind out of my wifi

Had to jump through lots of hoops for many hours to get back online.

WHADDUP APPLE ?

I just did that last night,

TOOK me over 4 hours to fix what it messed up with my wifi

It was working fine before

And a lot of strange stuff it gave me.

Part of the frustration (and you can frequently tell by the information in a post) is that we have.

The issue however, continues. 😟

That's a configuration change you will need to make on your Wi-Fi router; see the manual for your router for more details.

Clean Install High Sierra 10.13.0 on late 2012 iMac without any issues. Computer will auto connect to 5 Ghz wifi after idle and after wake from sleep but am getting Broadcom Driver crashing at least twice since the clean install Oct 1. Reading the crash logs something about power stat =0 that correspond to time of waking from sleep.

Have had similar issues as this one on Retina MacBook only happening on Sierra 10.12.6

No solution for either machine except to kill wifi altogether when certain not needed for extending period of time or in Terminal run caffeinate -i.

Have a Retina MacBook (8,1) from 2015.

WiFi issue: on awakening, the WiFi shows connected but isn't. Changing connection points does not solve the issue.

Current Work Around: If I turn off the WiFi on my rMB and turn it back on, the WiFi works as should. The issue is only with this device and none of the myriad of other devices I own. I have looked at and tried a couple of the suggestions here with no joy.

Definitely a software issue.

another easy way to auto start this script is as follows

You can:

• start Automator.app
• Select "Application"
• click "Show library" in the toolbar (if hidden)
• Add "add apple Script" (from the Actions/Utilities)
• Copy&paste your script into the window
• Test it
• Save somewhere, for example you can make an "Applications" folder in your HOME (you will get an your_name.app)

  Update: For latest macOS, name your file

  your_name.command

  instead of

  your_name.app

• Go to System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login items
• Add this app
• test & done 😉

I have some need to connect with them time to time in places of public locations.

Sometimes this does not work for good, and you have to reboot or re-connect - but it seems in places that I frequent often, after awhile, it rarely connects to the lower quality connection.
