Hi All,
I purchased a Macbook Air 2 days back. I installed some Apps and noticed the System space shoot up to 38GB. I don't believe that MacOS would take such a huge amount of space. Please suggest how I can free up some space.

Everything that was lumped into Other is now included in the System.
The question is not about overall storage, but the actual system (not documents, applications, or other media) taking up more more space than expected. It is unclear exactly what this refers to, but I find it had to believe that the OS takes up more than half of the storage on the base MBP model
System takes around 40GB of space. Why system portion is so large just after a usage of few days
